Las Iguanas

Another favourite of mine!

I’m sure I at least visit this restaurant 3-5 times a year. I have been to The Stratford Westfield and Royal Festival Hall restaurants.

By now, I’m sure you guys have established that cocktails are my thing :D. I would have to say that Las Iguanas do very well in this department. Offering 2 for 1 on cocktails between 12pm to 7pm every day and all day Sunday & Monday (Based on Royal Festival Hall Restaurant. Please note that different restaurants offer different happy hour times). You have the option of buying one glass or pitcher and getting another free.

With a wide variety of foods on their menu, Las Iguanas cater for all. So whether you’re looking for gluten free, vegetarian or a vegan menu, these guys have got you covered! The menu provides a range of dishes that have been influenced by Latin American, African and Portuguese dishes to name a few.

I generally opt for the ‘Tapas & Starters’ section of the menu. I feel like this is a great choice as you get more of a variety and are able to share. Every day until 7pm and all day Sunday & Monday, you are able to share 3 dishes or 5 dishes. It’s fair to say that I have probably tried everything on this section of the menu at least once. However, I do have my favourites which include; Gambas (shelled prawns), Albondigas (meatballs), Spicy Chicken Quesdillas , Spicy BBQ jerk chicken wings and Pato Taquito. Errm yeah, so I basically listed the majority of the menu lol.

Of course no meal is complete without a portion of plantain (another one of my most favourite things in the world!). Las Iguanas’ sweet plantain is one of the best that I have tasted. After having all this I tend to get quite full and rarely order a main. That’s not to say their  mains are not great too, but there’s always room for dessert!  Their churros and mango sorbet are my favourites from the dessert menu.

This is a very popular restaurant and from my experience it tends to be quite busy between Thursdays and Saturdays. If you are looking to go here for a first date, in my opinion, I would recommend going during off peak hours as it can be a little noisy. Maybe late evening after you have completed your date activity on the weekend or one quiet evening after work. I feel that this restaurant is great for all aspects of the Dating Lifecycle.

Las Iguanas are always sending emails about new products and offers especially around occasions such as Valentine’s Day.  You can make reservations for Las Iguanas at or you can simply walk in. At their busy periods if you don’t have a reservation, the front of house team will kindly suggest you have a drink at the bar whilst waiting for a table to become available.

Happy dating! 🙂

(Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any footage from a recent date night. So this was taken from a girly lunch a little while back)
