The Table Café

I was introduced to this place by a friend of mine as we were looking to have a girly catch up. Ever since then, I’ve been back several times. Just a 6 minute walk from Southwark station, The Table Café in my opinion is one of the best places to have breakfast/brunch.

On my most recent visit, I found that they had opened a new bar within the restaurant. Originally they would stay open till 4.30pm everyday but with the new bar in place, their opening hours have now changed.  On top of that, The Table Café also have a happy hour from 5-7pm everyday where you can get 2 for 1 cocktails as well as selected wines, beers and Prosecco.

The restaurants new opening times:

  • Monday 7.30am – 4.30pm
  • Tuesday & Wednesday 7.30am – 10.30pm
  • Thursday & Friday 7.30am to 11.30pm
  • Saturday 8.30am – 22.30pm
  • Sunday 8.30am to 4.30pm

I haven’t tried everything on the menu (there’s a first!) but their All Day Breakfast is incredible. With this, you have the option of a flat-iron waffle or a buttermilk pancake. This is then accompanied by; crispy bacon, pork & leek sausage and scrambled egg. If you don’t like your eggs scrambled, please let them know and they would be more than happy to change this for you. As this is a breakfast meal, I normally get a lemonade, English tea or peppermint tea to complement my meal.

In central there are a lot of restaurants that have similar aesthetics to The Table Café and the prices of these restaurants can be quite expensive. I’ve put up and picture of one of the menus at the restaurant, from that you can see food here is decently priced.

This is one of my favourite spots an I recommend it to everyone, not just for dates but in general. It’s a nice way to get the day started especially if you plan on spending your day around that area. I feel that this would also be a lively spot to go to in summer as they also have outdoor seating.
